
More furniture industry angst…
It would be easy to bemoan rising costs in transportation, raw materials or production; to point the finger at off-shore labor, the current housing crunch or the internet. But the genie of globalization will not go back in its bottle, and though change can be painful it has brought about undeniable improvements in speed, pricing and efficiency for the consumer.
No, the real question facing the furniture industry is: Why has it failed, by and large, to capture the imagination of the American public?
