Step Up Your Home Design with Stair Roll Runners

Posted on January 9th, 2020 by Toms Price Home.

Wall-to wall carpeting has stepped aside to make way for hardwood, tile or marble flooring. Hardwood flooring is now built into most new homes, not only throughout the first floor but on the second floor and on staircases.

“Yet in a two-story home people want carpet on staircases for several reasons, mainly because of safety worrying about children,” said David Pease, Hand Knotted Rug Specialist and Rug Buyer at Toms Price. “Stair runners are comfortable underfoot, safe and absorb noise. They are also a great way to dress up a staircase.”

According to Pease, roll runners are available in certain widths and are sold by the linear foot. At The TPH Rug Studio in the Lincolnshire, Skokie and Wheaton Toms Price stores, rug specialists are available to help customers navigate displays demonstrating a wide variety of stair runners. Also, stair runner installation is a specialty at Toms Price.

“Installing stair runners can be tricky with turns and landings. It is something we do really, really well,” concluded Pease.

“Floor covering specialists guide customers to make an informed buying decision concerning color, fiber and appropriate rug size for the room. The ideal situation is to begin with a rug you love as the foundation for designing an entire room around it,” said Pease. “While it may not always work out that way, it is easier to pull colors and fabrics from the rugs. Our rug specialists are also able to bring several rugs to a client’s home at no charge.”

While all Toms Price locations carry rugs and employ floor covering specialists, The TPH Rug Studio is open specifically at the Lincolnshire, Skokie and Wheaton stores. The Rug Studio offers specialty installations like staircase runners; wall-to-wall carpeting and provides specialized cleaning and restoration of hand-knotted and antique rugs. There are also 10,000 additional rugs on kiosks within the stores to peruse.
