Not a Shrine Anymore!

Posted on April 26th, 2010 by Toms Price Home.

The front Room. In our childhood it might be dubbed “the Inner-Sanctum”, “the Museum”, or “the Shrine”. It was probably the biggest room in the house and got the most attention on cleaning day, even though it only got used twice a year.
In most new construction, formal living rooms have shrunken down like an atrophied limb (if they exist at all) while kitchens, bathrooms and yes, garages have become super-sized. Despite the increased square footage, we are building houses for use as well as for show. And the same can be said for what we are putting in them — no longer stiff and formal seating for the sake of evoking a particular style or period. The new Toms-Price upholstery has deep-seated lounge chairs and sofas in fabrics that hold up to real life. They can make a beautiful room part of the home you live in – really live in! This is the Saybrook sofa from Nichols & Stone.
