Color trends for 2015

Posted on March 6th, 2015 by Toms Price Home.

Q: What are the home color trends for 2015?

A: Are you ready? The color trends for 2015 include 50 Shades of Gray! That’s right. They’re everywhere along with blue hues.

In recent years, the colors were trending on the warm side of the color wheel. Color trends for 2015 are moving towards the cooler side.

Examples of trending home colors:

1. Pinks and reds are now replacing the oranges.

2. Emerald greens are hot as opposed to lime greens.

3. Along with the blues, purples are making a serious resurgence (Radiant Orchid-Pantone’s color for 2014).

Colors of the Year

Paint companies generally pick a single hue for Color of the Year. See for yourself how these diverse choices for 2015 have that wow factor:

1. Behr’s pick is Seared Gray T15-2.

2. Pittsburg Paint’s is Blue Paisley PPG 1238-6.

3. Sherwin Williams chose Coral Reef SW6606.

4. Benjamin Moore’s is Guilford Green HC 116, a silvery green.

5. Pantone’s is Marsala 18-1438.

More about gray

Benjamin Moore’s Stonington Gray HC 170 is one of the truest grays. But color changes subtly depending on what you surround it with. Gray can look green, blue or even red.

Some beiges and certain grays are actually a blend of complementary colors such as blue and orange. This type of mix creates a much richer looking hue. You’ll want to use it to your advantage. That is why working with a skilled interior designer, who has an eye for color, can unexpectedly transform a room for you.

Have you experienced Color Stories from Benjamin Moore? These colors do not have a black and white color mix. Instead, the hues are mixed using complementary colors. Talk about super rich looking colors. They are so rich and saturated!

Color can create such a warm influence in your home or work environment. And now you can experience color in its most beautiful glory – whether it’s one of the “50 Shades of Gray” or any color. If you love grays take a look at our gray story on Pinterest.

Color is vitally important to the interior decor of your home. I’d love to help you so that when you walk into your space, you’ll experience color in all its beauty and depth – just like a walk in the Botanic Gardens! I invite you to come into Toms-Price. I’d be happy to help you with color and your other interior design needs. Give me a call anytime.
