Any well-lived-in rooms can start to look a little time worn. If you haven’t repainted or rearranged or added a new accessory in several years, maybe it’s time to take inventory. Not that you’re about to jettison everything; few of us can afford to do that. But some bright new accent pillows or updated lamps or new artwork can give a kind of lift to your comfortable old surroundings. The search for new stuff can be fun — and it will give you an excuse to take down that god-awful thing you got at your own bridal shower.
