Sometimes I wonder if we don’t pursue this decorating thing all backwards. We start with the big things first — the sofas, the cabinets, the beds; and only then are the smaller things, the accents and accessories that make the space our own, paid attention to. What if we started with the personal and the unique things, maybe a treasured collection, and let the space take shape around them?
