Behind the Scenes at the Store

Posted on February 25th, 2008 by Toms Price Home.

As I have mentioned before, I am a display artist at Toms-Price. The out-of-sight areas of our furniture store are called “the dock” and the parallels to a home are striking. Just as I suspect that I spend, in sum, far more time in my laundry room than I do in front of my fireplace at home, so the time spent unpacking, tagging, and moving merchandise on the dock at times outweighs what would seem to be the greater priority, the showroom. But the showroom is only at its best when we stay on top of things behind the scenes.

Which reminds me — today is trash day. Guess I’ll be taking the recycling out.
