The Color Effect

Somewhere back in the late eighties, the health care industry started to notice that most of their facilities looked and felt like processing plants. Then someone got the idea that a “kinder” environment might influence a patient’s response to treatment, and so hospitals got carpeted hallways, nicer upholstered furniture started to appear in waiting rooms, the concept of the birthing room came to be, and soothing colors replaced the ubiquitous antiseptic white.
