Just arriving on the dock this morning I spied the beguiling España Bunching Chest in all its turquoise glory! It was designed by Dorothy Draper who received an invitation from the government of Spain to bring attention to Spanish design throughout the international marketplace. You can order this swanky piece of furniture in many different finishes and paints.
Also new to Toms-Price is Kindel’s “Mark” Double Pedestal Dining Table. The burst of inspiration for this piece came from a lamp table, designed by Dorothy Draper, in the lobby of the Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco. This dining table features the same fabulously curved pedestals and angled apron rails. Two-22 inch leaves, with aprons are standard. The table is also available as a single pedestal, round.
Carleton Varney, President of Dorothy Draper & Co. Inc., has said of his mentor: “Draper was to decorating what Chanel was to fashion. She brought color into a world which was sad and dreary. These splashy vibrant colors were used to make the public spaces represent a place for people to come and feel elevated and where the dramatic design could absorb them in the interior.”
Our designers are ecstatic to have Kindel, truly one of America’s most luxurious furniture brands, now available at Toms-Price stores in Lincolnshire, Skokie (at Old Orchard shopping center), South Barrington (at the Arboretum shopping center) and in Wheaton.
The Louis XVI Upholstered Poster Bed, by Kindel, has a simple form characteristic of the Louis XVI era. The headboard is refined by elliptical segments on both sides. It’s shown here with a canopy. This bed is also available with low posts and finials, or with tall posts and finials. This stunning piece of furniture is made of Mahogany and beautiful gilt leaf accents are standard. It’s available in these sizes: Twin, Queen, King, and California King.
