Beautiful Remnants

Posted on November 9th, 2010 by Toms Price Home.

This is our design studio in the Wheaton Toms-Price store. Eventually these hanging fabric samples are discontinued and put out to pasture, so to speak. Imagine what can be done with hundreds of these textile squares, left over from our Toms-Price showroom samples.

This wonderful non-profit organization, called Re:new, is making them into beautiful new creations, while helping resettle some of the 500, or so, refugee women who are expected to arrive here in DuPage county in a year.

The Re:new project, located in Wheaton, helps ease what must be a very difficult transition for those who may bring little with them from their countries and are surrounded by unfamiliar faces and customs.

Re:new has a special holiday sale coming up this Saturday, Nov. 13 from 10 to 3 where you can buy handmade gifts. The address is: 250 Pennsylvania Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. The studio is through the eastern entrance of the old Scripture Press Building.

Visit the Re:new blog to read about all the good things they are up to.
