If the sofa is going to be in a family room, getting tons of action, you can think about using leather, unless you have budget constraints at the moment that prohibit it. In that case, use a synthetic or synthetic blend to add strength to the fabric. These days a lot of the blends have a luxurious look and feel. Natural fibers like cotton, wool and linen are beautiful but won’t wear as well. They are good choices for less used areas of the home. If you love them, but need durability, consider using them on throw pillows or maybe an accent chair. Leather is incredibly durable and easy to care for but you should think about getting a leather with some protective coating, instead of the buttery, luxurious aniline variety, which is uncoated and will stain easily.

Fabric choice is really an area where you can let your individuality shine. By choosing your favorite color palette, patterns or solids, you can create a unique ambiance. If you are overwhelmed at the thought of this, you can work with a designer who is experienced in translating what you verbalize into interior design styles. At Toms-Price this service is free when you work with a designer in the store. There is a fee for an in-home design consultation that is reimbursed with a minimum purchase.
