Leather is a wonderful material to live with. It wears like — well, like leather; it doesn’t lose its shape or get lumpy and it’s never out of style. But because it is so strong and muscular looking it needs strong, bold contrast to stand up to it. Petite accessories and soft, delicate colors are not going to do it. These pierced tables from Stickley provide some graphic punch to balance this interior.
If you’re living in a room with leather furniture and you’re wondering what’s missing, try going big — big with color, big with lighting and candlesticks and vases, and big with pictures. Better yet, get a rug. A big rug.
