Often it’s not the dressy, formal things that really improve our lives but the things we come in contact with at the most basic level; soft towels, a good cup of coffee, a decent paring knife. A sofa that looks great but sits like a board (or a marshmallow) will not become your friend at the end of the day. A dresser drawer that sticks or shifts every time it opens adds countless irritations to your routine.
Of course we like our things to look good. That’s what style is all about. But don’t sell yourself short. Make sure you also pay attention to how they feel, because nobody ever regretted feeling good.
