More Than Shelter–Whenever Possible

Posted on August 3rd, 2007 by Toms Price Home.

Well, here we are in August and the heat is on. It’s easy to forget that six months ago, temperatures were in the single digits and frozen pipes were bursting in houses all over the area, OURS included.

The damage was spectacular, and the repairs lasted six weeks. Living without ceilings or insulation in the dead of winter with only plastic sheeting for aesthetic effect, life became remarkably simple. The need for food, clothing and shelter can be met with far less complication and fewer possessions than we normally think we must have. So why did it feel so good to get all my stuff back, along with all the effort that goes with it?

For most of us, home is about more than shelter. This thing we call DECORATING is really creating the visual expression of our dreams. However much the world outside may beat them up, at home our dreams are still–ours. Dream on.
