Historic East Wilmette

Located in Wilmette’s prestigious “CAGE” district, this 1920 craftsman home was completely renovated and re-imagined for a busy family of 5 relocating from Lincoln Park. A prior addition off the rear of the home was largely rebuilt to open up the new kitchen to the family room, add a first floor mud room and half bath and create better flow throughout the spaces. New floors, cabinetry, painting, lighting, window treatments and landscaping were all selected and designed by Toms Price Home in partnership with Edson Developments, Drapery Connection and Midwest Arbor. Historic charm was retained in the entrance – complimented by period wallpaper – and on the main staircase, which was re-polished for another 100 years of use. Inside, contemporary furnishings are balanced by the original trim and detail of the home. Furniture from Century, Hickory Chair, Baker and others compliments unique lighting from Visual Comfort and Arteriors. The stair runner – which runs all 3 floors – softens the hard edges and brings the touch of modernity to the original newel posts. All selections, design details and renovation supervision were performed by Toms Price Home for this wonderful family – their third project with Toms Price Home in the last decade!
